Malayan Reserves
A campus parking reservation app for Android, built by a team of five. This is a working recreation of the app with simulated drivers, so you can reserve a slot without installing anything.
- Tap a free slot on the map to park now, or switch to Book later to pick a day and time.
- Check in within 20 minutes with “I've parked”, then extend once or leave to free the slot.
- Skip ahead to watch time pass: a held slot you never check into becomes a no-show, and parked cars leave when their time is up.
What the app does
- Live map of a 12-slot campus lot, with each car drawn in its owner's color
- Park now, or book up to 7 days ahead in 30-minute steps
- A 20-minute arrival window, then check-in, one extension, and leaving
- Faculty and staff priority slots, one reservation per driver
- Plates masked for other drivers, and a history of past stays
How it's built
- Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with Material 3
- A ViewModel with StateFlow and a repository layer
- Demo mode on SQLite with simulated drivers
- PHP and MySQL JSON API with transactions, hashed passwords and session tokens
- Booking rules shared by the app and the server
About this demo
This page recreates the Android app in HTML and JavaScript with the same layout, rules and simulated drivers. Accounts and reservations are saved only in your browser, so don't use a real password.
A student project concept, not an official Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna service. The Kotlin and PHP source is on GitHub.
